J.L. is a Bacteriologist-Parasitologist Chemist (QBP) graduated from the National School of Biological Sciences of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), with a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Molecular Biomedicine from CINVESTAV-IPN. At the end of his studies, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Physiology & Biophysics and the Institute for Immunology at the University of California, Irvine, in the United States.
In 2014, he joined the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) as a full time researcher. He currently works in the Research Support Network.
He is an accredited tutor in graduate programs at UNAM and other institutions such as IPN or CINVESTAV. He is currently a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) Level I and belongs to several scientific societies such as the Mexican Society of Immunology (SMI), the American Association of Immunologists (AAI) and the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS). In addition, he serves as Associate Director of the FOCIS Center of Excellence of the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán.
